So I went to Vida for the Valentines prefix

So I went to Vida for the Valentines prefix. I had called to make the reservations and they told me they only had 5:30pm available, so I took it. then I received a txt that I would have to leave a $30 deposit which was paid for online. So we got there around 5:30pm, which was fine Vida decorations for Valentine’s Day was top-tier. It was really pretty inside. Vida is a small restaurant but it’s still somewhere good to enjoy a bite to eat. One thing that stands out is the aesthetics of the restaurant and the fact that they play really good music. Now for the Valentines prefix we got seated and then we had a couple next to us that told us off the back that this is the size of the food that you will be getting for $145 per person, and also that the surf and turf comes with no sides at all. I was taking back by that and told my boyfriend immediately we should go but he said, since we are here already, we should just stay. I said OK… We proceeded to order our appetizers and place our drinks order, then the waiter left and came back with the distilled water, that’s when he started to take our main course order. I told him I wanted the surf and Turf and my boyfriend wanted the short ribs. I also asked what kind of SIDES can I add to my order at an additional cost to go with my surf and turf because who just eats a lobster tail and steak???. He told me that it doesn’t come with sides and he can check with the Kitchen if they had sides, he came back and told me the kitchen said they don’t have any sides and I was still taking back, at that point he offer to get the manager. The Manager came over and spoke to me, said that this is listed as such and there’s nothing else that comes with it and I begin to tell him other Resturant list main courses and don’t list the sides on their sites and it still come with sides and there was no way I could known this before booking the reservation. He proceeded to say that we could cancel the reservation and that will be it, so I said OK and me and my boyfriend decided to leave then he said we could take the water I said why would I take the water? He was like it’s complementary. I’m like OK then my boyfriend was like who the hell wants the water? Is he trying to be funny, so we got up that he came back over to us and started apologized and kind of changed his tone. At first he was a little rude/arrogant about it, then he started being apologetic, saying sorry… but overall they got my $30 for free. And we went to somewhere better Where we got A complementary glass of champagne instead of “distilled water” where we paid cheaper for our prefix and we did not have to worry about SIDE BECAUSE IT CAME WITH SIDES and we ate very well! I just think that they were trying to get all this money from people and not offering much! I would NOT recommend there for their prefix, Especially there Valentine’s Day prefix!
