Disappointed with their service and the outcome
Review of Compassionate Injury Law
Disappointed with their service and the outcome. My wife was rear-ended and the vehicle was totaled. From this accident my wife had minor brain injuries. We followed the firm’s instructions throughout the process. At the end of the settlement we still had an outstanding debt of over $4000. I don’t think the case was a priority and there were many instances where we were told one thing to then find out later something completely different. I would not recommend.
*Update This is approximately a week since we received the settlement and closed this case.
My wife got an email saying that I am all of a sudden required to sign a release of liability document otherwise our settlement will become null and void and we will have to pay back the portion of money we received (which is only a 3rd of the total settlement amount) to them. Due to the fact that this was not asked initially and I was not involved in the accident, I told her to let them know I will have to look into it before signing. With that, Justin responded expressing his frustration with my supposed attitude towards the case and the fact that I don’t want to just blindly sign the document. In my research, I found out that sometimes the spouse of the injured party can open their own claim and as a result insurance companies sometimes require both signatures to ensure that the settlement is complete and the injured party has given up their right to any future claim. Now obviously I’m no lawyer, but if this is true, you would think that it would have been something that our legal representation would have suggested so that their client isn’t left in debt after suffering in an accident where they were not at fault. Justin seems to be more concerned about a bad review than ensuring that his client isn’t left in debt after a case of this nature. This outcome could have been better, I am sure.
