I am extremely disappointed with my experience as a client of Cabanas Law Firm.

After retaining the firm for my divorce case, I felt that my concerns were ignored and that I was not treated fairly throughout the process. One of my biggest frustrations was that the funds in my trust account were depleted before my husband had even been served with divorce papers. Despite having the documents ready for service, I was told that I needed to deposit additional money before moving forward.

Initially, I completed my intake with Dina Hujber and expected her to handle my case. Instead, my case was assigned to Laura Grossman all the way in Pembroke Pines when I live in Ft. Lauderdale I was very concerned about the billing practices on my case. In my experience, the recorded time for phone conversations often did not seem accurate as they never matched with mine or the call wasn’t even made I questioned several charges that appeared on my invoices. As a client, I felt that many of my concerns regarding billing were ignored, so I demanded that I change lawyer back to Dina and she was great and I never felt overcharged by her but the funds were almost empty by the time Dina came back to be my representation.

On April 12, I submitted a billing dispute to the accounting department for the charges from Laura Grossman and as of today June 1, I had not received a response by phone or email. I called the firm repeatedly, almost every week, seeking answers, but I was continually given excuses that someone from billing will call me but there was no call back and no resolution.

The entire experience left me feeling frustrated, disappointed, and unheard. I gave the firm multiple opportunities to address my concerns and make things right, but unfortunately that did not happen. The stress of this situation was overwhelming, and there were times when I was brought to tears.

Because of these issues, I ultimately decided to terminate the firm’s representation.

Before hiring this firm, I saw many positive reviews and expected a much higher level of professionalism, communication, and client care. I am sharing my experience in the hope that future clients receive better communication, greater transparency regarding billing, and more attentive service than I received.
