We were told, without any prior communication, that Dr. Cortner was unavailable and that we would see Dr. Morgan instead. There was no apology, no concern for the sudden change. After an appointment with Dr. Morgan, we were hit with a $120 co-pay. It felt like a trap—like they had deliberately withheld this information so that we would have no choice but to pay up after the fact. We were told to come back the following week to meet with Dr. Cortner, who would discuss a treatment plan and go over payment options. When we arrived for our 6:30 pm appointment, instead of a one-on-one consultation, we were herded into a room with other patients and subjected to a 45-minute sales pitch disguised as an educational presentation. Dr. Cortner stood at the front of the room, talking about herself, about chiropractic care, and even discussing other patients’ X-rays and histories without any apparent consent. It felt more like a timeshare presentation than a medical consultation.

Instead, she tried to gaslight me, suggesting that it was my fault, that I had somehow misunderstood or failed to read the information she claimed had been sent.

What was perhaps most galling was her claim that she knew her patients’ histories in detail, that she loved her patients and cared deeply for them. Yet when I asked her why my mother was there, she got it completely wrong. She thought my mother was there for body pain when, in fact, she was there because of her vertigo and tinnitus. This was the final straw—it was painfully clear that Dr. Cortner didn’t care about my mother, didn’t care about any of her patients. All she cared about was locking us into a long-term, expensive treatment plan.

Over the years, I have known many chiropractors who pour their heart and soul into their work, who genuinely care about their patients and do everything in their power to help them heal. Dr. Catie Cortner is the opposite of that. She and her clinic are everything that is wrong with healthcare today. They give true professionals a bad name and erode the trust that people place in those who are supposed to care for them.

Walking into Arise Family Chiropractic, I had hoped to find a place where my mother would receive the care she needed. Instead, I found a facility that looked more like a spa or a gym than a healthcare clinic. The entire operation is a facade, a well-oiled machine designed to lure in vulnerable patients and milk them for every dollar they can get.

My advice to anyone considering Arise Family Chiropractic? Stay away. Stay as far away as you possibly can. Do not let Dr. Catie Cortner and her clinic take advantage of you or your loved ones. Your health, your well-being, and your trust are worth far more than the empty promises and manipulative practices that this clinic offers.
