Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Communication from owner and Unprofessional Practices I had a horrible experience at HTX Chiropractic. The owner never communicated directly when issues arose regarding a client responsibility form tied to an insurance claim on the initial visit. It took over 45 minutes just to be given a simple pricing sheet — something that should have been included in the intake paperwork from day one. Yet, they expect you to sign a document holding you financially responsible if the insurance claim doesn’t settle — all without clearly presenting this information upfront. Sanitation is also a serious concern here. They reuse the same e-stim pads on multiple patients, which is completely unsanitary. COVID is on a rise again and I have eczema I wouldn’t want to be sharing estim pads. When I requested my own e-stim pads, I was charged $10,those same e-stims are $6 for a pack of 50. I only received 4 and asking for an invoice led to the front desk (Leslie) inappropriately inserting herself into matters that should have remained between me and my attorney. I wasn’t asking for legal advice — I was asking for proper documentation of something I paid for. Later that same day when I called to speak with the owner he was already in defense mode from what he half way heard from Leslie(front desk clerk) his response was, “we make sure patients are clean when they come in.” How he determines if his patients bathe at home I don’t know. Also, how he’s so sorry I’ve had a bad experience so far when he as the owner had the opportunity to turn it around but in actuality made it worse! It’s unfortunate because Dr. Johnson is excellent — I wish he had his own clinic. However, the practice leans heavily on motorized massage chairs rather than offering any meaningful physical therapy. Adjustments were minimal, and overall care felt impersonal and profit-driven. I was done with my second visit in less than 30 minutes and the pricing there charging does not equal the service provided. Today September 17 2025 trying to call Dr Johnson since 9:30 am to cancel further appointments the front desk receptionist is acting as if the Doctor is so busy he can’t come to the phone. When on my visits there several times the Dr walk out in the midst of an appointment. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values transparency, hygiene, and professionalism.
Review for horrible experience at htx chiropractic. Owner never showed his face when it came to communicating about a client responsibility form on a insurance claim. Took the office over 45 min to present a paper that has there pricing on it. Yet it’s not included in the intake form but they expect you to sign saying you will be responsible for payment if a claim does not settle. They use the same e-stem pads on everyone which is very unsanitary and when asked to get my own I was quoted and charged 10 dollars. When asking for a invoice for paying for e-stem pads Leslie (front desk) decides to add her input saying how my attorney office doesn’t need a invoice this is usually patient responsibility. I didn’t ask for any attorney advice on submitting MY paperwork. I honestly wish Dr. Johnson had his own firm he is really great. They make adjustments but they rely on motorized message chairs to do the work. No actual physical therapy is happening
